Finally got around to popping in the [REC] 3 Netflix DVD that I've had for a couple of weeks.

I don't think I'll be wasting my time with #4.

I watched The Hobbit. It was very good. The visuals of the movie were stunning, and beautiful. The action is very well done, and I'd pretty much say, once it starts going, most of the movie is really action packed. The 48 frames per second didn't bother me one bit, and I can't think why anyone would find it uncomfortable. The beginning part of the movie though, felt a bit awkward at moments. It has the best action sequences I've ever seen in a movie, as well as the best scenery/visuals I've ever seen in a movie. The acting was good. There were some good jokes here and there. There wasn't a ton of dialogue, but that's more so because I think the book would be like that in film form, which it was. Anyways, it's an amazing adventure movie, with scenes that'd top The Lord of the Rings, and action that's as good as The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I watched The Hobbit as well.

I was definitely very pleased with it, even with its high frame rate and 100% CGI monsters. There were actually some pretty funny scenes, and the action was awesome. The only thing holding it back from being on par with the original trilogy was that it took 45-60 minutes for things to get going.

Oh, and the final battle between Thorin and Azog... Pure awesomeness.

Was good not great. Tom Cruise being an action dude. Duvall was good and Jenkins is defiantly trying to get dat cash. Also Rosamund Pike seems like a poor man's Catherine Zeta-Jones

Saw the trailer for Pain and Gain. A Bay movie based on a true story. Hmmm some how I dont see it being that true to the real story but Marky Mark and The Rock? Sign me up. GI Joe Retblahblah looks really dumb but I have to see it. Bruce Willis is Joe? lol

Generally I have no problem at all with CGI. But in the original LotR trilogy, the Uruk-Hai were real actors with prosthetics, makeup, and weapons, which definitely made them feel more threatening. However in The Hobbit, all those monsters are just CGI, and it is good CGI, but combined with the high framerate, it kind of takes the realism out and makes it apparent that the actors are really just swinging at nothing.

    Taken 2 - 2.5/10

The coined "you've been taken" line was incredibly cheesy the first time, now it's just downright, unintentionally comical. Liam Neeson still looks like he's getting around pretty well given his age, although I did spot his double a few times in the chase scenes. This movie is a sequel that shouldn't of have happened, same deal as The Hangover and the multitude of other movie series' that should have started and ended with just one movie and have the cord pulled there. But, when you've got a movie title that will top the box office for a couple weeks like Taken, gotta jump on it and then you get this laziness of a movie as a result.
