Glad I'm not the only person who thought Borat was funny, though to be fair I probably wouldn't find it nearly as funny if it wasn't all real.

Saw Chasing Amy recently as well, not bad at all.

It had an inconsistent pace. The writing was decent and it could have been funny if it had been executed better, but it was pretty awful. Didn't laugh at all almost through the entire thing. Farva was the best thing about this movie. The best scene was with him arguing with the fast food employee at the counter with the microphone. That was pretty funny, but the rest maybe just isn't my type of comedy.

Although personally, I would rate "Dogma" higher than "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".
All of the Jay And Silent Bob movies are pretty good. It's hard to rank any of them higher than another, they're all about the same quality except Clerks and Chasing Amy which were both strokes of genius by Kevin Smith.

Borat was hilarious, had a great time watching that with my cousin. So many quotable lines in that movie, it's insane. Could have done without seeing Azamat's behind though for as long as they showed it.

" I could not concentrate on what this man was saying" has to be the line that kills me the most.

Attempted satire is not justification for comedy, let alone bad comedy.

    Borat is awful.

Cohen has nothing on Williams' career; but I do not deny Williams as a actor has been mediocre at best, I never claim he has the book of comedy down pat.

Also, try to say things that aren't petty ad hominems.

I was just razzing you, comedy is too subjective for anybody to really claim any sort of definitive bests or worsts. For Example, my top 5 comedians are:

    1. Louis CK
    2.Patton Oswalt
    3.Aziz Ansari
    4. Donald Glover
    5. TJ Miller

But there could be someone out there who has a complete inability to find any of those people funny at all, and they would have a completely different list. Borat, for example, made me laugh until tears were streaming down my face. But it seemed to have the complete opposite effect on you.

Oh man, but you said it, comedy is subjective. My top 5 would be:

    1. George Carlin
    2. Richard Pryor
    3. Ron White
    4. Ralphie May
    5. Bill Hicks

I really can't stand this "new age" comedy and the majority of stand up comedy these days I can't stand and mostly just "borrows" material from previous comedians who've already played it out, so I mostly stick with the classic comedians. Nobody will never even come close to the greatness of Carlin or Pryor. They are the best and always will be and every comedian who takes the mic owes something to both of those guys for defining what stand up comedy should be. But, yeah though, I agree.

Definition of a guilty pleasure movie for me. My enjoyment of it comes solely from the reactions from the non-actors.

Hot Shots! Part Deux. 7.5/10. Not as good as the first Hot Shots!, but still damn funny.
