I enjoyed it. It seemed a bit short. I'm definitely a sucker for female-driven drama. I'm writing a character for one of my screenplays right now (that's...based on myself, actually) that's quite a bit like Emily Blunt's in this movie, so her whole aesthetic and characterization really clicked with me. I'm not quite sure what Alan Arkin the quirky businessman brought to the table (simply comic relief? He serves a purpose as the girls' dad, but his goofy business schemes..?), but the little boy and the guy with one arm were excellent supporting turns.

    the pirates, band of misfits

    - it was ok. had some funny moments

    dark shadows

    - i liked it very much. the gothic and 70s mix was cool. i'm sick of johnny depp playing the pale character roles but aside from looks, he was different enough. some of his lines were pretty funny - not the one liners but his general way of speaking. i was rooting for the witch tho, whom wasn't played very well imo.

The Hunger Games 6/10 - I think I'm already too old for teen movies like that.

just made the mistake of catching the latest Rambo (2008 one)...goddamn was it bad. a solid hour of boredom till at least some hell breaks loose and you see Rambo rip guys to pieces. still, no redeeming qualities. and Stallone looked just fat and old.

I have a feeling I shouldnt catch The Expendables now.

So over the years I made my own category of movies: Gloriously Terrible. Movies that are good because they're just so awful in their unique way. Only 2 movies fit that category for me: Toxic Avenger and Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

There is now a 3rd movie for that list...Klown Kamp Massacre, It's so stupid in the best way, and makes the corniest jokes and the ending makes you go "what was I watching?" in a good way though.

I remember checking out The Toxic Avenger Part III on G4 around Halloween 2009 and then the other movies a few months later. A few other Troma movies are really hilarious too, like SGT Kabukiman and Tromeo and Juilet.
Big thanks to AskariNari for bringing one half of The Posies to Rock Band!
