So I'm finally going to watch Lord of the Rings.

Watched the first last weekend and it was pretty good.

It took you three movies for you to realize that Greg is an asshat in the movies? In the book his actions are almost reasonable, and he actually learns not to do it again. In the movies he just does them and apologizes. BANG! Forgiven.

Either that or I don't remember the books at all. After all, it's been at least five years since I've ready them.

Greg came off as a desperate victim of circumstance in the last two films, forced to use whatever means necessary simply because they were the only means necessary.

In Dog Days, other options exist, but they're just not as quick or easy. Greg does his manipulative thing because he's a dick, and it shows that this time around.

If you haven't read the books, then I can see how you can come up with that. But comparing the books and the movies, the movies make him look like a dickwad. The books really play out the victim of circumstance thing better.

In his books, he is an unrelatable monster. He deserves every crappy happening in all of the books because he's a grade A dick.
