The first one had the most of the folklore which is why I liked it the best. The story behind it is better than seeing orcs die to me.

Just got done with Paranormal Activity.

It wasn't the least bit scary, but it held my interest throughout. Good suspense.

I had not known before looking it up that Paranormal Activity is the most profitable movie in the history of cinema (made for $15,000, box office of nearly $200 million). Sort of explains the three sequels.

    Killer Elite.

Better execution than most of Jason Statham's films, but the plot got off to a jerky, confusing beginning. Manages to wrap almost everything up at the end, and has potential for a sequel, even though it was based on real events in the 80s.

So, are you the type of person who likes the pop out scare stuff? I thought it was very scary, because it didn't use the conventional horror movie crap.

I suppose. There's that scene in the original [REC] where Pablo blindly pans the camera in the attic above the penthouse apartment. And it's pretty obvious that something's gonna jump out. But when it did, I still jumped in my chair and squealed a little

See, I didn't get that from PA at all. I felt it was just a movie about a bunch of pots and pans banging around. Cupboard doors opening on there own don't scare me.

I did think the ending was rather predictable. I was fully expecting one of them to kill the other...the only question was who would do the deed and who would be left behind. But it was enough to get me to Netflix the first two sequels =)

Same here. The PA's are just movies filled with a bunch of cheap scares that people either like or hate. I don't get the suspense in watching doors close on their own or pans falling off their hooks, I just don't. It's cheap and lazy and ultimately extremely boring to sit through 80 minutes of it, but people love it so expect another one next Halloween too.
