Thanks a lot, there are a lot of films I haven't even heard of.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

No problem, I've actually been on a hiatus from anime watching right now. What with tons of other media and hobbies for me to divulge in.

Just got back from Playing for Keeps. Was a good feel good family type movie. Ending felt rushed but the rest of the movie was pretty good. Decent mix of comedy, awkwardness and redemption for Gerard Butler's character. Dennis Quaid plays a good swarmy rich dude and Uma Thurman was good as his wife. Nothing in this movie is really going to surprise you but it was a pretty good watch.

Hobbit was good. Didn’t really feel like three hours and I think they ended it in a good place for the first of a trilogy. But man did some scenes seem long. That scene with Gollum? BOY was that overly long. I don’t think 3D was necessary at all, like with all movies, so I don’t feel bad about seeing it in 2D

I loved the Hobbit. I was kind of bummed that they went ahead and made it three movies instead of two, or even one, but I enjoyed the extra scenes quite a lot, and they changed my opinion. My friend saw it in a 3D (the SOB got to see a prescreening) and recommended it to me, but I ended up seeing it in 2D.

The landscapes and scenery were phenomenal, even better than the LOTR trilogy. In that regard, the newspaper review I read said it best: It probably would haven been a better idea to have made the Hobbit first and the LOTR second. Nevertheless, I think it exceeded my expectations, and I'm stoked for the others.

End of Watch is an excellent movie with strong performances. There's one problem: it wants to be a found footage movie (the framing is that Jake Gyllenhall's character is making a movie for class) and it uses a lot of the visual language of found footage, but it is NOT a found footage movie (there's non-diegetic music, shots that would have been impossible to get in the moment, and a private bedroom scene where neither of the people in it could possibly have been holding the camera). The chemistry between Gyllenhall and Pena is fantastic and each exchange of dialogue brims with a shared history between the two.

Do note that it is a pretty dark film--there were some sequences that are crazy violent, but the non-excessive type that gives it a feel of authenticity--and it will alternate between that and the random silliness you'd expect is needed to work a job like this.

Still highly recommended for those who like their cop movies less than conventional.

    The Hobbit

It is a treat to return to Middle Earth and they did a good job turning six chapters of a book into a three hour movie. There could have been a little bit trimmed though, like the scene with the dishes at Bag End. Gollum is great, especially the part where Bilbo doesn't kill him and it affects the whole trilogy after this. I had the Misty Mountains song stuck in my head after seeing the movie.

Once Upon A Time In America - 9/10

That was a f***ing long movie. 4 hours well spent though I will say. You know a movie is long when it tells you to take an intermission.

The only thing that was bad was a felt I was gypped of Joe Pesci. I was looking forward to him in another gangster movie, but he was only in one notable scene in the entire thing which left me disappoint.

    Arthur xmas

-The main actor was a bit annoying and overall a little too fast paced but other than that it was good. There was one bit towards the end that made me laugh pretty hard, it was just unexpected and the timing was great

    Premium rush

    -It was very corny.

    Chefs special

    - its a spanish movie about a gay chef who gets 2 kids back that he abandoned. It was pretty funny at times mostly due to language. A bit too theatrical and at times it felt like it wasnt a gay movie, instead gays were the joke. Anyway there isnt a any non joke protrayals of gays in hispanic media, this was better than what im used to

Gollum felt so much more expressive this time around; it was quite fantastic watching him in his sceneses.
