I'm going to be honest. I actually like this movie. I know a lot of people seem to hate this movie on principle, since it has aliens and Shia Lebouf and it's a George Lucas movie in the last 20 years. But looking past all of that, I thought it was a well-done 50s B-movie pastiche, Harrison Ford is still awesome, and the fire ant scene is genuinely terrifying. It's not as good as Raiders or Crusade, but I think it's enjoyable as it is, and in my opinion, better than Temple of Doom, due to the pronounced lack of screaming blonde lady.

    7/10
People seem to forget what the Indiana Jones films are supposed to represent, adventure pulp. Everything about Crystal Skull is adventure pulp and I'd say good pulp at that (and better than Temple of Doom).

By every element it is better than the Temple of Doom. If anyone has a right to scale Indiana Jones is the guy who has memorabilia in his house.

    Django Unchained 3.5/4.0 stars

Just got back from seeing it. Lots of bloody fun. Another really outstanding performance from Christoph Waltz. I just really loved his character. Thought Dicaprio was pretty good, Samuel L. Jackson was terrific, and Jamie Foxx was great in the main role of Django... some scenes were a bit hard to watch but that was expected considering the subject. I also think it was a tad bit long. Other than that, it was another excellent film from Quentin Tarantino~ maybe not as good as Inglorious Basterds, but certainly among his best films to date

Saw the Hobbit for the second time, first time in 3D. I am totally not a fan of 3D; you simply cannot focus on the backgrounds with all the focus on the characters in your face, especially for the likes of The Hobbit.

This is a fair complaint, I think I decided to tolerate the lack of focus in spur of the vibrant images and watnot.

I finally saw Wreck-It Ralph. It was good, but little more. I'm glad we finally got a movie that "gets" games. There's no "NINJA GAI-DEN! HAI!" to be found; it's a product of sincere love. And sincere love for videogames was something sorely missing from the field this year.

The actual film wasn't too bad, but I wish it had been a little more experimental and gone all out with the game jumping. As it stands, it feels too localised. The villains, the actual villains, were also too downplayed and one of them didn't even make sense in the context of the universe, leaving the climax feeling dry. But it met my expectations all round.
