Aha. Wonder if they'll include the original scene on the DVD/Blu-ray release.

I would've given Silver Linings for best comedy/musical and Jack Black for best performance in a comedy/musical even though Bernie isn't really a comedy, still a damn good movie. Bradley Cooper put up the best performance of his career with Silver Linings too, I'd put them both above Hugh Jackman. Anna Hathaway for best supporting actress was a lock though, totally agree with that one given to Les Miserables.

And I agree Chastain deserved it, the only other one on that list that did, but Naomi Watts deserved it more. In this case, the exceptionally great performance lost to the pretty good performance.

I have to point out The Last Samurai doesn't fall into that category. Cruise's character doesn't directly influence the samurai in the film and is more of an observer. A common misconception is that the title refers to Cruise, when in fact it doesn't. It can be argued that honor goes to either Katsumoto (In a literal sense) or the Emperor. (In a figurative sense)

The film is really about a culture at a pivotal time in it's history, being forced to move on to a modern era. Cruise's character represents western expansion and provides a way for an American audience to relate to the subject matter, yet the film really isn't about his character per say.

I feel like Amy Adams and Bill Murray got snubbed, but that's how it goes.

    Meh... musicals...
Disagree /heavily/. Les Miserables is one of the most beloved and classic stories of all time and probablly the best musical in the past thirty years.

it was kinda cute. not extremely funny. i liked it, just thought it could of been funnier.

    compliance

it was complete unbelievable crap. but that wasn't really the movie's fault - the real situation it was based on was enough to punch a cute puppy in the face.

It looks like Silver Linings Playbook is finally in wide release or at least its finally released by me. That means there are 3 movies I want to see that come out on Friday and brings up the January and February total to 19 movies.
