I always skin the parent's guide on IMDB for movies that Im goign to watch and this is what it says on the subject

Magic Mike does include a lot of nudity, both male and female, however, it does not include any direct shots of genitalia, male or female.
These are people that watch movies and count how many times each swear word is said. There is one part where there is a clear image of a penis front and center.

Yeah I think the parent guide for American History X even says how many ding-dongs are in that movie (the shower rape scene). Quite a bit of information to try to sit down and collect.

They show the penis's front and it's center?

It was more of a profile shot.

My last movie: "Robocop", I hadn't seen that in well over a decade. Loved it. My girlfriend, much less so. I hope she's still willing to watch "Starship Troopers" and "Total Recall" with me, someday. I find that just about all Verhoeven movies have enough clever satire in them that they are amusing even if you're not into explode-y or sleazy movies.

Last movie watched in a theater: "Lincoln". Not nearly as dry as I feared it might be, totally watchable.

Somebody wrote somewhere that Verhoeven can be read as either a genius or the crappiest filmmaker of Hollywood. Or something like that.

I thought Starship Trooper was tedious to watch and I'm a sci-fi fan.
It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.

I think that's a fair statement. Look at the end of Total Recall. At first it seems like a typical ridiculous 80's action film. Which it may be. But (Spoilers) If you look at it from the point that Quade really was a vegetable and the whole last act is schizophrenic delusion, it makes perfect sense.

I loved the book. The movie was an entirely different beast I ended up recognizing on its own merits (being an oversized, hyperviolent satire the way RoboCop was).

More like he got what he paid for rather than the black text.

Last movie I watched was also the first this year.
I watched Django Unchained last Sunday with my brother.

In one word, it's awesome. It's kinda like what you'd expect from a Quentin Tarantino film, IMO: behind all the no-holds-barred, borderline brainless action, there's a heart to it. Even though the heroes aren't exactly examples of decent people, it's difficult not to feel empathy for them (plus, Christoph Waltz as King Schultz is so damn funny). And the actors do put on a show when they're acting, especially Leonardo DiCaprio as the villain. And of course, the action scenes are so over the top they're amazing, in their own way. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't seen it to do so right away.

I wonder what would happen with the Hobbit movies if Christopher Lee were to pass away before filming concluded. Don't mean to be crass, but dude is 90, and it happens (The Matrix Revolutions, Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus). Of course, I haven't read the books so I don't know how much of a role Saruman has in the story.
