Hard Candy - 6.5/10
The castration scene was hard to watch, even though they didn't show anything, the dialogue was enough to make any man flinch. The movie itself was alright, kind of like Saw without the gruesomeness. Have a hard time understanding Ellen Page's character though, who exactly was she? Just some random 14 year old girl extracting revenge on a man who she thinks is a murderer and pedophile? Even if so, I don't see how a proposed 14 year old could pull off what she did, let alone think of doing something like that. The whole movie felt a little far-fetched imo, but still a decent watch.

Life of Pi - stellar film, just fine story-telling matched with great visuals. Never read the novel, so can't speak intelligently about how well it stays faithful to the book, but the movie should rank up there as one of the year's best on its own merits. 8.5/10
Silver Linings Playbook - didnt know Bradley Cooper could impress me this much, but alas...he makes a good team with Lawrence, and De Niro provides excellent support. 8/10

It was... odd. Not really what I expected at all. I didn't know Henson made it. Bowie was pretty cool though.

Cloud Atlas
I liked it a lot. Each story was interconnected in a way that felt subtle but still meaningful. The costumes/makeup were astonishingly good. I also had no idea Halle Berry could be a good actress. She certainly held her own on screen with a bunch of other very good actors.
Hitch****
This one was decent. Hopkins and Mirren deliver stellar performances, and it's an interesting look at a very interesting director. However, the scenes between Hitch**** and Ed Gein felt a little forced, and I don't really like how the movie seems to smooth over Hitch****'s personal life postPsycho. The movie suggests that he stopped a lot of his particularly... odd behavior, but that's not the case.
Did anyone else think that the demon in Cloud Atlas was Tom Waits at first?

I was kind of disappointed when I realized it was just Agent Smith.

To me, he'll always be Elrond.
The Croods
I don't enjoy crude humor.
