    Over the weekend I saw..

Dredd - very good.. shame they won't be making any sequels
The Master - good.. but not for everyone
Life of Pi - good.. great directing
    Moonrise Kingdom - great

Last week I saw the Evil Dead remake~ they really didn't hold back on the gore, which was awesome. I'd give it a 7.5/10
Lionel Richie - "Running with the Night"
    Camel - "Lady Fantasy"
Type O Negative, Bad Brains, Madonna

    More:
    Dire Straits, Interpol, The Strokes

Oblivion is a potentially great ninety-minute movie trapped in a much more sluggish two-hour-long movie. I fear that, since it was directed by the creator of the source material, he may have been reluctant to cut up his material.

Also, finally saw The Cabin in the Woods. And then I watched it again with another set of friends. Fun was had by all. It is AWESOME, and I recommend anyone who liked all aspects of the original Scream check it out, even if you don't like slasher movies in general.

Without details, is the big secret that there's humans on the planet? I just got the feel from the commercial it was one of those kinds of twist, were the protagonist were secretly the antagonist.

Well I was going to be seeing Iron Man 3 on opening night, but the theater that I purchased tickets from cancelled all their showtimes for it, and none of the other local theaters appear to be showing it. Darn...

The Tree Of Life - 5/10

The first hour or so of this movie was wasted on pointless visuals, there was literally 20 minutes of this movie wasted on nothing, the second hour of this movie was actually pretty interesting but not nearly enough to save it completely.

    The Numbers Station - 5.5/10

Mediocre thriller starring John Cusack and Malin Akerman.

    The Guilt Trip - 2.5/10

Quite possibly the weakest comedic duo you can possibly create a movie with, Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand, two people that aren't funny to begin with and don't complement each other at all.

    Jack Reacher - 7.5/10

Don't know if this is worthy enough to turn it into a series as it's rumored to be, but it's alright.

Iron Man 3 kicked some serious ass. Anyone who knows Shane Black's deal knows what they're getting into, here. This movie is different, tonally, than the first two IM movies--which is exactly what was needed. It's a character piece on Tony Stark that manages to balance out introspection, action (surprisingly little actual Iron Man armor, which makes for some fantastic sequences as well as a buildup to when he does use it) and humor both black and otherwise.

On a side note, I wasn't convinced on Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin, particularly since I felt it should have been played by an actual Asian, but after this film I'm totally sold on this portrayal of the character.

Shane Black is probably the best thing to happen to the Iron Man franchise since they announced Favreau for the first movie and the casting of RDJ.
