HMX: MSI wants to be in RB

DISCLAIMER: Those of you that dislike MSI need not apply. Let those of us that do like them have a shot at getting them in-game.

Hey Harmonix. We need to talk. I'm pretty disappointed in you.

I sent an e-mail to the manager of one of my favorite bands, Mindless Self Indulgence. I asked if they had considered getting some MSI songs in Rock Band.

Here's the response I got this morning:

"We'd love to but have not been asked by Rock Band to do so."

So here's a band - a rock band with several Billboard #1 singles - where we have clear proof that the band is ready and willing to get some songs into Rock Band, but they have not been approached at all by HMX/MTV. Now, I understand that there are a ton of bands out there to consider...but when we're getting additional tracks from bands that have already had several tracks on discs and as DLC already, this makes me sad.

So, my dear Harmonix: make this happen.

This is exactly who we need. We Keep Getting Rock, Metal. But What about Electronica? Come on!! MSI Is great for this stuff!

I always wonder which way these things are supposed to go. If a band wants to be in Rock Band, there's no way for them to "apply"? I guess that would make things convoluted, but it seems a shame to have good, willing bands just waiting around hoping that Harmonix will notice them.

I'd love to see some MSI in Rock Band but uh.... how would they do that? Most of their stuff isn't exactly 'family friendly'. By the time they got done editing the songs, the vocalist would have nothing to do.

Some of the songs off their newer CD (If) have less profanity than, say, stuff off of Frankenstein Girls. They could make a few edits and they'd be okay for the game, I think.

I'm willing to bet there are quite a few bands in this type of situation.

And you know what? some of these bands only have to contact their own management and tell them to get off their asses and push their music to these other outlets.

Maybe someone at Harmonix once dated a member of the band, but it was a nasty breakup, so it's awkward for them to talk now. But no one told the band's manager, so he's oblivious.
