I think Elegy, Tuonela, Far From The Sun, Eclipse, Tales From the Thousand Lakes, and The Karelian Isthmus are all completely different.

not in a bad way. They have their style they started with and they've stuck with it. More or less. They didn't have any drastic changes like In Flames.

I know what you mean. I wouldn't say there weren't drastic changes, though. Listen to Karelian/Tales/Privilege of Evil and then Listen to Am Unviersum/Far From The Sun and tell me that's not drastic. The difference between Amorphis's change and In Flames's change is that Amorphis's new stuff is absolutely miserable.

i don't love it, but i don't hate it. I usually let it play if something off Silent Waters or Sky Forager comes up on random in iTunes. Are you into Nest at all?

I'm pretty sure Elegy is one of my favorite albums of all time. Amorphis is also excellent live.

I have never heard of Nest, but I will definitely check them out.

Elegy is easily Amorphis' best effort. Have you seen them live before?

You'll like Nest if you're into Anathema or Agalloch. They actually had a split with agalloch not too far back.

I think I've seen Amorphis 4 times? Twice with the new singer. The latest was last September at ProgPower. I saw them when Opeth opened for them, too... kind of odd to think of Opeth opening for Amorphis now.

I love Anathema, but I can't for the life of me get into Agalloch. I don't know why. I find The Mantle very boring, and I've yet to be able to complete Pale Folklore in one sitting.

Not too much to choose from on YouTube. The album Swanlike is much more death/doomy. Existence and Grave Human Genuine are much more proggy. Great band, though.
