If you live in Canada
(Like I do)
Just go to Walmart or costco and buy their industrial size box of 24 or 36 alkaline batteries for around the same price as 2 or 3 "Enegizers". The box will likely last longer than the singl pkg of lithiums.
Use the money you save to buy your dlc.
You get what you want/need and you send a message by not buying energizer stuff if they do not include us in their promotions
Problem solved
not available to Canadians...
I'm switching to Duracell... damn the bunny!!
I was at Target earlier, and while they had a ton of the Advanced Lithium batteries, none of them were marked for free songs.
Thanks for the 90's Rock, HMX!
It really sucks to live in Brazil. Rock Band 1 is around 500 dollars here, Rock Band 2 Bundle isn't even out (had to buy game only), can't buy DLC (or MS points) because of credit card zone restrictions, and now I can't even get free DLC when buying batteries ):
It's pretty sweet if you find one that has them though. I went to one of the CC's that is closing and bought three packs with DLC codes for 20% off at that store. Add in the $2 back on each pack to use on DLC and they aren't much more expensive than a normal pack of batteries.
Edit: Interestingly enough, when I entered the codes on PSN, it said that the codes were worth $2.19 rather than $1.99![]()

I can see where you are coming from. If it was just this one thing it wouldn't be too much of a big deal.
But as a European, I like a lot of other people have already had to miss out on a lot and I think it's about time something was said (again). I don't see any other developers doing such a bad job with other countries. With all the money they've made you'd have thought by now they'd at least have the resources to be on par.
The energizer batteries aside their is: the double price, the long wait for RB1, no chance of getting the 20 free songs, those weekly competitions on this forum, a huge lack of European music another wait for RB2 etc. Not to mention how they announced RB2 only a month after the European release of RB1. If their was any way of knowing at the time I wouldn't have bothered paying double price for a game that was soon to get replaced.
It's with all those reasons that I'm thinking of skipping RB2 for RB3 (if they've given me an incentive by then). GHWT will be enough to keep me occupied if that time ever comes.
Afterall that we get 11 free songs (only a few of which are good) and then we get forgotten again. Hardly comes close to balancing things out.
I feel sorry for how they treated Australia. The US got RB2 before Australia even got RB1 for crying out loud.

I'm not directing the anger at you but I hope you can see where I'm coming from now. I remember when a load of people from the US were whining because the UK got a Rainbow Six Vegas DEMO a few days earlier than them. European people wouldn't complain about that happening to them because it's the norm. However Harmonix are going way overboard.
/rant for real this time
I can definitely see where you are coming from; I have all along. What I'm trying to say is that since Harmonix is a United States-based company, it should not be unreasonable to expect delays (however long they may be) with getting their items to other countries. Not just the shipping of the products, but the production time it takes to make the products able to work on different region systems (e.g. NTSC-J, NTSC-M, NTSC-N, NTSC 4.43, PAL-M, etc.). Of course they will work on the United States' region code first, and for a few reasons:
1) Population
2) High videogame demand
3) It's the country that the company is based in. If you don't see how this would affect anything, here's an example: You start a bakery in England. You're not going to ship your breads and pastries to Canada before you let people in England eat some.
I am in no way affiliated with Harmonix, so I am not liable for any misinformation in my above statement, nor is Harmonix. That is simply my opinion. Have a good Sunday, everyone.![]()
