Went to Philly last week with my fellow High School Seniors.  It was pretty crazy, but of course the best parts were when we weren't on tour to see that old colonial ???.  I was sporting my fresh Guitar Hero II shirt, and had a lot of fun.  Check out some of my pics in my profile.

As you all could tell from my profile pictures, I love going to conventions.  There's just something about them that's so appealing.

Maybe it's the atmosphere?  You know, being surrounded by loads of people who share the same interests as you.  And there's a lot of hot babes/models that work for the booths and stuff, so that alone is a good enough reason to show up for one.

Another reason to go to conventions because you never know who'll be there.  The last two Comic-Cons, Kevin Smith had a seminar, which was basically him doing his "Evening With..." deal with us.  Meaning fans ask him questions and he'll just be hilarious and tell stories based on his responses.

I also met Hayden Panettiere or Heroes (boy is she a hotty).

And there's a bunch of contests to be apart of, like Guitar Hero tourneys, or "See who can build this computer the fastest" contests.

So have any of you gone to any conventions?

I've been to:

NY Comic-Con '06

NY Comic-Con '07

Digital Life Expo '06

And tomorrow I'm heading to the NYC International Car Show!  So I'll be happy to share my experience about that when I return and with new pictures as well.

Unicycling.

I just started picking it up about 3 weeks ago because my two close friends started doing it, and they want to start a "chain gang".  Their goal is to have 4 people able to ride a unicycle, and then throw a box or something over us, shape it as a car, and it would be us riding together as a "car".

On paper it sounds like it'll be fun to do, but I'm having a tough time picking it up.  I can ride maybe 10ft before I lose my balance, and I still can't even free mount yet, so I have to lean on a tree or a car to get started.

There's some cool tricks that my friends are able to pull off, like "the pogo stick", which I think is impressive since they're amateurs.

So do any of you guys unicycle?  Any tips?

Yeah, that's right I went to a ballroom dancing class tonight.  It may not seem like a very "rock" thing to do, but I do have prom coming up, and I'd like not to be the guy moshing with his date!

It was fun though, a lot better than I thought it would.  The entire month, they're teaching Salsa and Tango only (they change dances every month, but always keep Salsa because that's allegedly very popular).

Salsa took up the majority of the time (it was a 2 hour class), learning the basic steps.  The secret behind the dance are the hips, you gotta be able to shake 'em (like Shakira), which is a lot harder than it looks.  The steps themselves are simple, the impressive moves come from the style of the dancer, his/her technique (and I don't have any technique).

Those who are musically inclined know that most rhythms are in 4/4, but in Salsa the steps are in 3, so I had to adjust to that.

Tango was also fun, but we only had about 10 minutes to do it as we were nearing the end of the class.  But Tango seems a lot easier than Salsa, as it's a very stiff dance, and the motions are like normal walking.  However, you and your partner need to be thinking the same thing or else you (the leader) will be stepping on her toes all night!

So it was great, I'll definitely be heading back there next week, perhaps with my prom date even (I wanted to go solo tonight so I look like I know a few things when she comes along :D).

If you guys are interested, I'll continue posting my progress every week.

So like the rest of you, I'm pretty stoked about Rock Band.  I cannot wait for this game to launch this fall, and I can't wait for some more information to surface.

How will the new guitar peripheral differ from the GH Guitars? (as it's become aware that they won't be accessible)

Will EA/Harmonix take advantage of Playstation Home?

Are we limited to just playing songs?

How long has the game been in development? because it wasn't that long ago that it was revealed that Neversoft is taking over future GH titles.  And the game is slated to come out this fall?  Wow that's some fast working for an idea that sounds pretty damn complex.

So good luck to you guys at Harmonix, I'll be waiting for the final result.  But I want this to be clear, you guys are going to ruin my freshman year of college with this game!
