The Story
By the time he recorded “E-Pro,” Beck was well established as an artist who did whatever he felt like, whether that was a funky set of Prince parodies (Midnite Vultures) or a downcast album of breakup songs (Sea Change).
So 2006’s Guero was a characteristic Beck album, whatever that was: He was back to rapping and sampling, even borrowing “E-Pro’s” rhythm track from the Beastie Boys, who probably borrowed it from somewhere else. (Both Beck and the Beasties worked with the star production team, the Dust Brothers).
Guero was meant to be an album that was never completely finished: It was released in three different mixes (including a pre-release internet leak), and the deluxe version included remix software.
Trivia
Perhaps taking a hint from Spinal Tap, Beck’s tour behind Guero included a puppet show.
Gameplay Hints
One of our own playtesters came up with a clever way to cheat on drums: Play on Lefty mode if you’re right-handed (or vice versa). That way the constant hi-hats will feel more natural.
