The Story
1975 was a breakthrough year for KISS: Their third album, Dressed to Kill, was in the stores and one of its tracks, “Rock ‘n’ Roll All Night,” would be their first real hit single. On tour that spring and summer, they recorded shows for KISS Alive, the double-album that turned them into superstars.
One of that tour’s most memorable gigs was at Cobo Hall in Detroit, long a KISS stronghold. When the concert happened on May 16, 1975, KISS-mania was so strong in Detroit that an entire high school from nearby Cadillac, Michigan turned out in KISS makeup.
Much of KISS Alive was recorded at Cobo Hall, but the Rock Band version of “Parasite” from that show is a Rock Band exclusive from the archives.
Trivia
According to Gene Simmons, KISS is a rock ‘n’ roll circus entertainment for the whole family. He reasoned that rock created a generation gap, and that KISS is bridging it. If parents can swallow KISS, he reasons, every other rock ‘n’ roll band will become more palatable.
Gameplay Hints
The guitar solo is tough, so make sure to save your Overdrive. The drum part also has some parts to watch out for - notably the eighth note kicks under the sixteenth note tom-tom fills.
Where Are They Now?
In summer of 2009, they’re promising that their forthcoming album will kick serious ass.
