Getting another guitar has proven to be quite tough.

Mine decided to (for the most part) quit working about 2 weeks after Rock Band came out. I sent for a new one then and still haven't gotten the box to ship MY guitar.

I have a feeling this may take a while.

So, to hold over until then, my boyfriend and I decided to take back about 20 old games. We were hoping to get store credit and get a Guitar Hero guitar to mess with.

SOLD OUT!

We may end up having to buy the whole Guitar Hero game... which I suppose is okay with me. *grin*

As I've stated many times in the forums and blog, I pre-ordered my Rock Band from an independently owned store. I was afraid I wouldn't get it there, and I was right. I walked into the store, asked if it was in stock, got a disappointing 'no' from the guy working, then got my money back.

After thinking for a bit, I had a great idea! My ex-boyfriend (who's still a good friend of mine) pre-ordered from EB Games, but ended up getting his from a different city while visiting a friend. I called him up and asked him if I could pick up his and pay him the $30 he put down on it, and he said yes!

I had the biggest grin on my face walking into EB Games/Game Stop to get it. One of the guys working there eve offered to carry the box to the car for me, but I wanted to be a BIG girl.

I got home to play it, and everything worked PERFECTLY! I played from 5-11 PM then had to go to bed for my last day of school for the week.

Better yet, it's supposed to now later today. It won't stick because it was almost 80 degrees fahrenheit yesterday (silly Missouri weather) but it'll be nice to see the first snow of the year.

I hope everyone else's day is going as well as mine!

...aside from that.

My younger sister and I actually bonded today!

She's a year younger than me, but she's what you would call a "prep."  She's the pretty girl all the boys in school want to date, and who goes and gets drunk every weekend.  I'm the nerd who constantly gets asked to hook people up with said sister, who has never been drunk. 

Today though, she crossed her usual barrier of saying no more than one word to me, and asked to play my Guitar Hero III demo (with controllers since I don't have a guitar).

After us laughing together that she couldn't even do easy, we started talking most of the night (until I left with my boyfriend) which was really odd.

Later that night after my boyfriend and I got back, she wanted me to show her boyfriend, who just bought GHIII for PS3 what I could do on it.  She was apparently so impressed with my "skill" (I played on hard) she had to make me demo it.  Mom came in the room later and told me how excited she was to watch my "talent" at the game.

I know it's not really a big thing, but it made me feel really good.

I turned my volume up to 11 (Yay, Spinal Tap reference)  due to the fact that Rock Band is just a little over a week away.

I'm actually quite bored right now because I don't have any class until 2 (It's 12:30) and I don't drive so going home for that hour or so is a little tough.

My weekend wasn't too bad.  I had to help Jon rebuild his transmission most of it, but I don't mind that.  I'm learning new thing when I do that stuff with him, and he gets free help.  Hopefully we can get it done soon...

That's pretty much all I have to say right now.  I'll try updating more.
