Last night Trent Steele and Anastasia hit the London venue hard and came away huge! That's right, Porthos Folly is now "Big In" London! Originally the bad started becoming a house hold name in Stockholm, Sweeden before taking things stateside. The band then started a whirlwind tour of the big US venues (New York, Chicago, LA, Seattle, San Francisco, etc..) and became "Big" in all of them. Now the twosome turn their sights back on the European market!
When asked about sometimes band members Stephanie and DitzcoDan, Trent remarked, "They've been working on their solo projects as well as their duo band, The Making Hot. They are always welcome in Porthos Folly and we hope to catch them again soon as we make our way across Europe and Asia. Don't worry, you'll see us all together again soon!"
The band has reportedly started a Paris tour and hopes to increase their already large fan base even further. The AP estimates that Porthos Folly has over 13 million fans world wide!

My wife (BLSPipGirl2008) and I attended punquin's Rock Band party this past weekend in honor of her husband's 32nd birthday. We had a GREAT time. We rock and rolled all night, as well as partied all day (alright, it's not the exact lyrics, sue me :). It was great and we look forward to doing it again soon.

BLSPipgirl2008 and I have taken some time off from touring as Porthos Folly while she works on another side venture. In the meantime I've devoted time to my solo tour as Trent Steele. I've cleared about 25 songs now in the regular tour. I've been rather fortunate, too, to not have failed out of a song yet, but I have a feeling those days are approaching.
I was amazed that I was even able to get through Suffragate City without failing (though it's a good thing the song ended when it did :)). So far I've GS'ed two more songs since Roxanne ... "In Bloom" and the Garbage song, which oddly enough I also FC'ed while talking on mic with Dan on the first try. That was pretty amusing. I'll have pictures of those two accomplishments when I remember to pull them off the digital.
Porthos Folly goes back on the road on Friday.

That's right ... my first time getting gold stars in Rock Band! I've never really tried to get them before but I knew that if there was a song that was going to get me there easy .. it was this one. You'll notice though, 99% ... I missed it by ONE note. And which note? THE LAST ONE ... seriously .. the last friggin note .. blew it (sorry for the pun, Portia).
That's okay ... I went back and got er done on the next try :D

I couldn't wait for Sunday to arrive. And like most game day launches I was up so early that I had to wait a long time before I could pick the game up. But once I did, once I got home and put RB2 into my 360 and started it up .. the rest of the world disolved away into nothing and I became Trent Steele all over again.
My wife and I play together (BLSPipGirl2008), me on Lead and her on Bass guitar. While we waited for our other online band mates to arrive we tried our hand at our own band (Porthos Folly). Immeditately we were frustrated by "Eye of the Tiger", considered easy by most, but with an annoying lead guitar part that ended up as a very touchy timing issue. Once we moved on, though, we found some new songs that we'd never heard before but instantly came to enjoy.
Then we got the call. It was time to Rock!
Stephanie, our lead singer, was ready to go. Boognish (whose name I likely just mispelled and will forget to correct later), picked up the sticks as our drummer. Lyra and Trent picked up their axes. And with the dull clammour from the small croud in Dublin, "Five Day Forecast" made their debut in the Rock Band universe.
Stephanie (punquin) is a regular band mate of ours in online quickplay (RB1). She's an extremely talented vocalist who takes her position in the band very seriously. She's always worried she'll be the one to drag us down, but once the music starts to play it's gold stars all around!
Boognish is an all around player, well versed in any position in the band. We first met him in RB1 when he lead the band in Run to the Hills on expert drums. Needless to say, we were very impressed. As Steph's husband and drum rocker DizcoDan has mostly retired from the music scene, Boog was the obvious choice to take the reins!
Lyra Steele (BLSPipGirl2008, wife) first started as a vocalist, however singing Say it Ain't So three thousand times while I learned to play guitar quickly took the fun out of singing for her and she moved on to drums. Her experience with piano helped her pick up basic drumming very quickly (coordination of the hands and feet don't come easily to everyone, namely me). But after a while, she realized it wasn't her passion. Finally she picked up the bass and suddenly all the pieces clicked into place. She found her musical calling.
And then there's Trent Steele, my alter ego. Guitar wasn't his fist choice. He tried to start his musical career on drums, but he was so bad that the drums themselves refused to let him hit them anymore. But like his wife, Lyra, once the guitar was in his hands he knew he had found his love. He's still learning how to master runs, but he's come a long way since those first days of strumming Weezer songs. He's the personality behind "Five Day".
So day one was a success. We got the band together and played some songs together and rocked the crowd. Unfortunately, connection problems brought the jam session to an early end, but the promise of a better tomorrow will lead us all back together very soon!
Look for pictures to come soon!
