My name's Jason and I've been working at Harmonix since 2003. I started as an artist intern making 3d models and animating lipsynch on Karaoke Revolution 1 and I've been part of every game that we've released since.
Harmonix has been my only experience with working at a game studio. Before coming here I made my living off of my music, I'm not talking about busking or playing your cousins barmitzvah either.. I'm talking about rock action..living on the road till you forget where the hell you are and when your going home. Ever go on a 3 month van tour with 5 days off total? lemme tell you brothers and sisters.. you REALLY get to know your bandmates. what they eat, how they sleep, what weaknesses and strengths they have etc etc. But I'm not here to tell you tales from the road.. not just yet. I'll blog a few of those if people want em though.
a few of the many jobs I've had before Harmonix:
so.. as you can see, I didn't have alot of game development training going into this. What I DO have though is rock training.. lots of it, this is why I'm so psyched to work here. Harmonix is filled with musicians like me that really understand the joy of creating and playing music live and want to get that across to people. I think we've done a hell of a job doing this with our games and ROCK BAND is gonna be no exception. This game is going to be the best gig you've ever played.
so there you go.. a little about me. maybe next time I'll tell you about the time I played an incredibly sweaty show in front of a sold out club in Detroit called the Magic Stick.... with my fly open.
