Do you remember your first time?

Remember taking place on that couch, getting comfortable, turning up the volume.

Remember taking of the wrapper, open it up .. grabbing it and popping it in?

Remember the sounds you heard and the dizzying effect on your brain?

Off course I remember my first time... with a product from harmonix.

For me it was frequency on the PS2.

Now I had only remotely heard what this game was supposed to be and as lover of games and music I had to check this out. SO I picked up a copy as soon as it was finally available at the PX on base ( military store- this was overseas) The experience was just overwhelming. Amazing tunes, with a crisp sound quality and simple but spectacular visuals. It was a very trippy experience.

The great thing about the game was the simple design of it. Move your cursor ( in amplitude this became a spaceship) to the right track and hit the correct buttons at the correct time to kept your song going, If you messed up that track would not play for a bit , really messing up your song.( you see the same gameplay style back in the GH series.)

It was very addictive, musical crack if you will and I will never ...EVER...sell that game ( or any of the other harmonix products)

IF you started with the GH series, you need to secure yourself a copy of frequency and amplitude and try it , they are amazing games.

Ever since I have been a fan of anything harmonix has put their name behind. I own all of the karaoke revolution discs that came out ( sadly my youngest got hold of kr:party and messed it up ,still looking for a replacement copy*hint*) More on my KR experiences in a later blog ( you will want to read it believe me)
And also the GH series has been a blast, until of course my old ps2 dies. Because it seems the controller is not compatible with ps3 yet ( but the game works fine).
So naturally Rockband is already on my wish list, I blindly trust the quality of it.

But there will be never that first time as was with frequency.
Thank you harmonix,
!!NOW GIMME MORE MUSIC-CRACK !!
