Pearl Jam Takes It Forward With Backspacer

It's a banner DLC day here at Rock Band: For the first time ever, we're offering a full-album DLC on the same day of its general release. And we think the album is a future classic: Pearl Jam's Backspacer.
If you know everything about Pearl Jam, think again: Backspacer may be the loudest, fastest album the Seattle quintet has ever made, with lots of full-throttle, garage-inspired rock'n'roll. As guitarist Mike McCready explains in our exclusive interview, the album's celebratory mood just may have something to do with recent changed in the White House. Fans are already calling it one of Pearl Jam's best—Rolling Stone just noted it's got the "shortest, tightest, punkiest tunes they've ever banged out"—and even non-fans are giving the new sound a thumbs-up.
You've probably heard the single, "The Fixer," a snarling rocker about making the world a better place—and we at Rock Band have got to love a song that has "Yeah, yeah, yeah" in the chorus. That's not even the loudest song here though; check out the three-chord thriller "Gonna See My Friend," with a hot solo that McCready recommends you all have some fun with. That's not to say that you don't get to share some sensitive moments with Eddie Vedder, however; and on "Just Breathe" and "The End" you're invited to join him to contemplate the mysteries of life, death and love. It adds up to a new peak for Pearl Jam, and you can absorb it for the first time while you're playing it!
Get ready to rock with the best music school on the planet!

So I was checking out this album...I played it at a friends and ended up just downloading The Fixxer only because I like the song and its fun to play on drums but the rest of the Album is to slow for my taste perhaps someone els may think differently but the rest of the album I rate 1* out of 5* for "drums" since theres really no effort envolved playing most of the songs and one of the songs on the album has no drumming part if your a expert drummer and don't like pearl jam all that much don't get it unless your a fan or just a download junkie.

Thanks Tcole, but the RBN is also on Playstation its just called the "music store" and not only that but the downloadable rockband songs come out a day sooner in the music store then they do in the playstation store why that is I'm not sure but anyways like you said as long as they plan on making it for the playstation 3 I'm happy I guess I will have to just wait and see what they do befor I run out and buy a Xbox

bong_man...RBN is on XBox only. They hope to make it available on all consoles, but no dates are planned yet. They are supposed to put some of the songs on DLC for PS3 and Wii, though I'm not sure what the criteria is yet for songs that will be available everywhere vs. XBox only.

Bottom Line: Pearl Jam rock. All you people asking for My Chemical Romance,Coheed and Cambria, Slipknot or any other crap band from the 60s that sound like a bad version of the who(the guess who) please do us all a favor and have someone remove your feeding tube. thanks.

Gotta say, not too crazy about all the Pearl Jam that's coming out lately. Just throwing some names out there for you: My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, Foo Fighters (I thought they were your favorite), Audioslave, Queens of the Stone Age (you used to like them). I dunno. As it is I don't even play the Pearl Jam that comes with the game and that's the only song by them I know. I dunno. I guess a little more variety would be nice.

Well the download content is available on the xbox store but not on the Playstation network yet... Yes thats right once again the Playstation users get the short end of the stick. But hopefully it will be on the PSN soon. I have one question for the rockband creators if you see this message please tell me ... when you make the addon for reaper downloadable to the public will Playstation users be able to use it to test their songs as well? all you state on the rockband.creato- rs- page is xbox users will be able to use it but nothing about the playstation...please email me any comments to - workinb123@yahoo or on this site. Thanks again!

I have to agree with hilfmir. Though, I love playing Pearl Jam songs, there are just sooo many other songs I would like play (Mudvayne, Slipknot, Tool, more Metallica). Granted, I do not know the legal stuff behind taking a song and putting it in Rock Band, but I would like to see more bands instead of more songs from the same bands. I look forward to checking out the new Pearl Jam tracks. I just hope that we get some new bands for the following week's release.

I'm not a HUGE Pearl Jam fan, I have 4 or 5 of their tunes as DLC, but, whatever you think of the band, how awesome is it that the ENTIRE album will be available for DLC the same day it hits shelves? That's how big Rock Band has become. Congrats HMX WELL DONE!!!
