Country Pack DLC

Are we about to change our name to Country Band? Have we all been kidnapped and trucked off to Nashville? Not quite. But if you think you hate country music, we urge you to check out this week's DLC pack. Twangy or not, these tracks rock; and feature five of the biggest acts in modern country. If that's not enough, we can promise that at least one of the songs is almost a country "Painkiller" in difficulty level.
The Dixie Chicks made all kinds of hit records before they became more famous for a certain run-in with a certain soon-to-be ex-President. Though never a single, "Sin Wagon" comes from their mega-platinum album Fly and is their full-tilt bluegrass stomper, with the most daredevil banjo playing (mapped to guitar) ever to appear in our game. Be ready for some serious speed on this one!
Brad Paisley is known as one of the hottest guitarists in modern country—in fact, his latest album is mostly instrumental—but "Mud on the Tires" is one of his early breakthrough hits. This one has it all—a sweet old-fashioned verse, stomping rock chorus, and lots of neat little guitar fills.
If your tastes run to southern rock, Brooks & Dunn's "Hillbilly Deluxe" is up your alley: How can you not love a song that mentions Lynyrd Skynyrd, NASCAR and Tasty Freeze in the first verse? These guys are officially the second-biggest selling duo in recorded history—behind only Simon & Garfunkel, who have a few years on them.
Texas spitfire Miranda Lambert first got famous out of a TV competition (which she didn't even win), but don't hold that against her: Anyone who's recently been dumped will love "Gunpowder & Lead," which can stand alongside any Rock Band tracks for pure attitude.
If you want something more traditional, try Dierks Bentley, a Merle Haggard/Buck Owens disciple whose "Free & Easy" has the feel of wide-open spaces, put across with steel guitar, banjo and sweet harmonies.
"I Want My, I Want My DLC!"
The songs in Rock Band are only the beginning. Each week we'll be rolling out more downloadable songs, essential tracks (and sometimes whole albums) from every era of rock history. Check the Rock Band website to find out what's new.
Tracks will usually sell for $1.99 each; with three-pack specials costing $5.49. (On the Xbox 360, that's 160 Microsoft Points per track and 440 per three-pack). Occasional special or discounted tracks may cost a dollar more or less.
Downloadable content for the Xbox 360 is available through the XBOX LIVE marketplace. Downloads for the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Rock Band are available through the PLAYSTATION Network Store. In each case, the songs are downloaded onto your hard drive.
If you're playing solo, you can start rocking right away. For head-to-head or multiplayer online, all players will need to download the song.
Get ready to rock with the best music school on the planet!

I've waited a long time for country songs on Rock band. Hopefully, we'll be able to play some Hank Jr or David Allen Coe before too long. "Ticks" by Brad Paisley, as well as almost anything by Alabama would be welcomed by me as well

I think the country DLC is awesome! As said before, if you don't like it don't buy it! Can't wait for more songs, it's a nice change to the game. Hopefully Harmonix will team up with CMT and come out with a game of country songs....It's a nice change...we still need some more STP and Pearl Jam though!

I think its awesome. If there were to be a country music game from harmonix/cmt?? I would buy it in a heartbeat anlong with a whole lot more people too. Those of you who dislike the country songs DON'T BUY THEM.... I think alot of people would be suprised at what rate a "Country Band" would sell. Really suprised. Wait and see.
