Hautewerk Three-Pack: Indie Pop With Added Jangle

So you love classic-model power pop with hooks and harmonies that ring in your head all day? Then you'll want to meet the Laguna Beach band Hautewerk. Co-frontman Kenny Howes has a long history as a do-it-yourself popster, releasing his first homemade cassettes in the early '90s and producing six critically-praised CDs since then.
Hautewerk co-leader John C. Hall shares Howes' love of jangly 12-strings, tight arrangements and punchy production. The band played its first gig at Rickenbacker's 75th anniversary bash three years ago; sharing the stage with members of Yes and R.E.M.
We're especially fond of "I Know Where You Came From," with a twangy guitar that won't quit; but all three of these tracks will fill your need for hooks and jangle.
