DLC Singles: Just Kait and Just Kula

Wrapping up this week's DLC are three songs that don't fit into our Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin packages, but we like 'em anyway.
For fans of classic Brit-pop we're glad to offer two tracks by Kula Shaker, who set the UK on fire when their 1996 debut, K, became the biggest-selling album there since Oasis' Definitely Maybe. "Hey Dude" and "Knight on the Town" were in fact the first two songs on that debut; both find the band linking classic pop melody with Indian influences, just like a little band from Liverpool once did. And of course, we can't resist pointing out Kula Shaker's nifty Beatles connection: Lead singer Crispian Mills' mom, actress Hayley Mills, was the star of The Family Way, the first non-Beatles film to be scored by Paul McCartney.
So who exactly is Just Kait who has this insanely catchy "U Suck" song? Well, she's just Kait - or to be exact, she's Kaitlyn Debenedetto, a 17-year-old high school senior from New Jersey who writes her own stuff and plays every instrument there is. Last year she won an MTV contest to write a new song for the program "Parental Control." Since then her songs have been featured on MTV's "Discover & Download," and as E! Entertainment Television's theme song for its summer 2009 branding campaign. Kait says that when she feels like screaming or punching a wall, she writes a song instead.
