Halloween Zombie Invasion! Vintage Rob Zombie and a Taste of the Sequel

rob_zombie_dlc.jpg

Halloween season is upon us, and it's time to put together those spooky playlists for your costume party. Yes, it's time to give those Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath favorites another go-round…but what would Halloween be without rock's creepiest monster, Rob Zombie? The former White Zombie leader is now a solo artist, film director (he recently unleashed Halloween 2 upon the world), former porn-mag art director, and all-around ghoul - and secretly, a nice guy from the quiet suburb of Haverhill, MA.

And what could be more Halloween than the shout-along, slash-along choruses on "Dragula" and "Superbeast," the two big tracks from his 1998 solo debut Hellbilly Deluxe? Released soon after the breakup of White Zombie, that album proved that Rob wasn't about to get all sensitive just because he'd gone solo. "Everyone was trying solo records - Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell, everyone. And when I came along people thought, 'Ah well, this record's going to be a disaster.' And I figured, you know what? Maybe it is, but I'd rather have a lesser career and be happy."

Every great horror show needs a sequel, and we've got an exclusive preview of Zombie's next one: "Burn" is an advance track from  Hellbilly Deluxe II, which is still three weeks away from full release. Subtitled Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls and the Systematic Dehumanization of Cool, the album revives the demented vibe of that '98 debut and Zombie will be temporarily leaving the director's chair to hit the road with his band this fall. As he's said lately, "I am bouncing off the walls like a mental patient - That tells me it's time to take it to the stage and let the demons loose!"

The package is available October 27 for Xbox 360 and Wii, October 29 for PlayStation 3. The cost is $1.99 per track (160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) or $5.49 for the three-pack on Xbox 360 and PS3 (440 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360), $2 per track on Wii.

@Dangrbvocals
Jackson is far from the "King of music in all degrees". King of Pop, yes. But that's where it ends. The insult you used for Claydog should best be reserved for yourself.

Rob Zombie, and previously, White Zombie, have turned out many amazing and well received discs over the years. You may not like him, that is your right. But to say he is that horrible for the game is incorrect and shows your lack of open mindedness in music.

Lastly - This is "Rock Band".
Leave Michael to be made by that other game.

@gmack
Really?.. Disturbed has ENOUGH, they are TERRIBLE.
Rob Zombie is even worst, don't see the point of him in a game that wants FUN... the tracks looked like crap for guitar, all alt strum CRAP.

@Claydog
Michael Jackson is the king of music in all degrees, and you just don't like him because u believe that "Now proven false" molesting case... Dumbass you are.

Yeah, I'm getting all of the Rob Zombie songs tomorrow. I'd still love to see Living Dead Girl, Thunderkiss '65, Never Gonna Stop, and some others. But, still glad to get these-- Dragula, especially.

claydog,

It all depends on your taste of music. I like most of his music & he had more than just 2 ok songs (I'm guessing you are refering to thriller & beat it). If your a metal-head, then you probably won't like him
