We Hung Out With Rush!

We've kept you in suspense for weeks, now here it is: the first part of our backstage interview with those gods of prog rock, singer/bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex Lifeson of Rush. We met with the lads before a show at the Comcast Center in Mansfield—For you non-locals, that's where they throw arena shows in the Boston area; They proved as smart, witty and down-to-earth as you'd hope (Drummer Neil Peart doesn't usually hang out before shows, preferring to sneak in one last drum rehearsal before hitting the stage). The band is still on the road on the second leg of their "Snakes & Arrows" tour, which combines new material from that album with vintage favorites, many of which were added back into the setlist this summer.

In this section, Geddy and Alex talk about the early days of Rush, including the recording sessions for the first album…which produced the long-buried alternate tale of "Working Man" that debuts as DLC this week. Enjoy and stay tuned for Part 2! (Thanks to John Arrowsmith who shot the video).

"I Want My, I Want My DLC!"

The songs in Rock Band are only the beginning. Each week we'll be rolling out more downloadable songs, essential tracks (and sometimes whole albums) from every era of rock history. Check the Rock Band website to find out what's new.

Tracks will usually sell for $1.99 each; with three-pack specials costing $5.49. (On the Xbox 360, that's 160 Microsoft Points per track and 440 per three-pack). Occasional special or discounted tracks may cost a dollar more or less.

Downloadable content for the Xbox 360 is available through the XBOX LIVE marketplace. Downloads for the PLAYSTATION 3 version of Rock Band are available through the PLAYSTATION Network Store. In each case, the songs are downloaded onto your hard drive.

If you're playing solo, you can start rocking right away. For head-to-head or multi-player online, all players will need to download the song.
