It Will Get Loud! The White Stripes Finally Hit Rock Band

First we put up The Dead Weather…and you said, "We love it, but what about that OTHER band Jack White is in?" Then we put up The Raconteurs, and you said, "We love it, but what about that OTHER OTHER band Jack White is in?" Your prayers have been answered, and The White Stripes make their DLC debut this week, with three prime tracks from three landmark albums: "Dead Leaves & the Dirty Ground" (from 2001's White Blood Cells); "Girl You Have No Faith in Medicine" (from 2003's Elephant) and the title track from their latest, 2007's Icky Thump.
Play these tracks and be reminded of how a primal, blues-infused duo from Detroit became one of the biggest bands in the world. "Dead Leaves" screamed rock classic from the first chord and brought many new fans aboard. "Girl…" finds them in chord-slinging garage mode; while "Icky Thump" sounds proud and epic, with a strong political slant. And Jack White played much of this astounding guitar work on a cheapo, part-plastic Montgomery Ward Airline guitar from a pawnshop. Playing great music on a plastic guitar? Wish we'd thought of that.
This year brings a new tour documentary, "The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights," which includes footage of their 10th anniversary show in Nova Scotia. So try your luck on matching Jack's manic vocals and killer guitar, and Meg's primal drums. And before you ask, yes, there are bass parts in these songs. We authored them to the rhythm guitar tracks.
These tracks will be available for purchase as "The White Stripes Pack 01" as well as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system for $1.99 per track or $5.49 for the pack, and as individual tracks on Wii for $2.00 each.
Get ready to rock with the best music school on the planet!

eh... whatever. I agree with OMEGAKZ. I'm holding out for classic rock, southern rock, or (a longshot) something from the jam band scene (more Phish, Widespread Panic, etc.). My bigger concern is that the new DLC selection is getting stale again. No disrespect at all to Nirvana, Foo Fighters, and Blink-182, but there's more than enough right now. Within the game, these bands are blending together. The DLC selections are getting predictable. Adding The White Stripes just continues this trend. It's time to shake it up again. Take a break from alternative, punk, and metal and add something new. I don't really like country, but at least it's different. Even silly, cheesy 80's like "Down Under" or "Safety Dance" would work. Better yet, underrated classics like "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits or "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad?" by Derek and the Dominoes. Again, no disrespect to the bands and styles I mentioned. They're good. They deserve their due. But so do other styles and bands.

This band have no bassist.
But that rhythm guitar probably is "bassy" enough to call it a bass.
I'm not convinced yet whether or not to buy those songs.

So happy about this even though I know how to play Icky Thump on a real guitar. I want to sing it on Rock Band very badly.
